David Cole-Baker - Greyabbey Regeneration
David is a new Director of the Network and brings years of volunteer experience with Greyabbey Community Association to bear. His professional life with the N.I Housing Executive gives the Board a great depth of knowledge from which to draw.
Polly Hughes - Clough & District Community Association
Polly has been Treasurer and a main player in Clough Community Association for many years and has served on the Network Board since 2002. Polly has travelled all over the world and is still a regular volunteer on environmental and social missions to the poorest parts of the globe.
Jim McAfee, Chairman - Strangford Community Association
As Chairman of the Network for over 4 years Jim's enthusiasm for the community sector in Down burns brightly. He is heavily involved with Strangford Community Association and football club as well as Down Volunteer Bureau and many other voluntary groups. Jim has vast experience in the public and community sectors including a Trade Union background and has been instrumental in all sorts of projects including the Millennium Woodland in Strangford Village to name but one.
Alan Poots, Treasurer - Newtownards
As a former manager of Portaferry Regeneration, Alan was a founder member of the Network and has held the office of chairman in the past. Currently treasurer of the organisation, Alan's paid employment is with Lisburn Borough Council as Capital Projects Manager. He is also a Board Member of RCN (NI) and is a keen supporter of the local community and voluntary scene.
Edith Ringland - Crossgar Community Forum
Edith has a private sector and personnel management background and is one of the busiest volunteers in the country. She works part-time with Down Volunteer Bureau and is a full-time volunteer with Crossgar groups as well as Home-Start.
Jane Smith, Vice Chairperson - Cloughey & District Community Association
Jane joined the Network Board recently, but has stimulated the organisation with her enthusiasm. Along with her neighbours in Cloughey she was a founder member of that Community Association and has introduced several great projects where nothing previously happened.
Nick is Chairman of Ballyhalbert & District Community Association serving a second year in that role. As well as being part of EDRCN's board he is also a member of Greyabbey & District Community & Police Liaison Committee, Peninsula Community Network, and is a member of the Local Action Group for Down in the new Rural Development Programme. Outside of community work Nick has worked in the science sector both in education and research for 18 years
