The Flying Horse Ward is the most deprived ward in Down District. After a huge amount of positive activity driven by the local Community Forum they were awarded £1 million pounds through the Department of Social Developments Neighbourhood Renewal Initiative.

This brought all the key agencies together to develop and implemented a co-ordinated local action plan to provide community and play facilities and undertake a major environmental improvement scheme.

The Network was on hand to guide and assist the Forum throughout the process. We also sit on the partnership for the renewal of other neighbourhoods in Downpatrick.
